Philippines – Build the Hussainiya Fatima-e-Zehra
29th April 2026
Salaam Alaykum,
We have been approached by Br Ahmad Afzal who was a member of our community in Australia for more than 20 years, he recently moved tot he Philippines and has been supporting the construction of the Hussainiya Fatima-e-Zehra owned by the Ahlul-Bayt (A.S.) Philippines Islamic Assembly Inc. The organisation has provided us with all their registrations and documentation to satisfy our local requirements.
The land has been paid in full by the community in the Philippines, and only $35,000 is needed to complete the building.
As always we reach out to you to assist in any way you can to assist in raising the $35,000.
Summary
In Zamboanga City, conveniently located about 10 minutes from both the airport and the city centre, the Markazi Mosque has been serving the community for many years. By the grace of Allah and through the sincere efforts of local members, along with the generous support of international donors, the mosque has remained active and beneficial for the wider community. Over time, the association was also able to acquire the land and building situated opposite the mosque, which has been fully paid off. With patience and steady effort, further development continued, including the addition of a new structure behind the existing premises.
Alongside this, the Hussainiya building has gradually taken shape over the years. With the recent support of Brother Ahmad Afzal Syed, the construction of all three floors is now close to completion. Insha’Allah, the ground floor will serve as a Hussainiya, the first floor as a school, and the top floor as a registered training organisation, including a dedicated garden laboratory space. A separate block has also been designated and the building is already complete for a free medical clinic, which will begin its services once the Hussainiya becomes operational.
In the final phase, once the project is fully functional, there are plans to further develop essential facilities such as a commercial kitchen, toilets, wudhu area, and garden. Until then, the existing mosque facilities will continue to support and accommodate community programs.
The Imam Bargah will be registered under the name Hussainiya Fatima-e-Zehra, under the organisation Ahlul-Bayt (A.S.) Philippines Islamic Assembly Inc. The school and college will also operate under the same name. This entire effort is a humble reflection of the unity, dedication, and ongoing support of the community. May Allah accept these efforts and allow them to serve as a source of benefit for many.
